I am going to be setting up a 125 reef tank soon this will be my first salt tank of my own. and my questions pertains to filtration and flow rate.
1)I will be using a 60 gal for my sump/fuge. my Q is bio balls or no bio balls? my plan so far is to go inlet from overflow with the skimmer then some baffles then the fuge(fuge will be 24"+)then more baffles and the fuge over flowing into a 4"-8" wide tower of bio-balls(2nd overflow also flow into the bio balls) then return pump. sorry if it sounds confusing is there some sort of program so I can draw a diagram?
2)will a DSB in the fuge and main tank be benificial?
3)what kind of flow should I be running? I was thinkin 400gph through the first overflow through the fuge and 800gph through the second over the bio-balls is this enough or too much?
