you guys won't believe me till i post the receipt but i'm pretty sure i got the best score so far of 2009. i've waited a 2 weeks since this happend to post so : NO THERE ISN'T ANYMORE AVAILABLE, and it was a completely random clearance please do not harass your LFS asking about this sale

as many of you know i work at one of these large chain petstores, you know the evil one thats name should not be said, thats 5 letters long.

it all started on a normal sunday... i got up, got dressed, got to work at 2pm, my good friend/co-worker who got me the job comes up to me and tells me it's been crazy this morning about 7 large aquariums and stands have gone on clearance and were promptly swooped up by my other co-workers, i really didn't pay much attention since she said they were all called for, about an hour later she comes back up to me and tells me one of my other co-worker has backed out because of lack of space in his home, so i walk over to take a look. turns out it's an 90G AGA REEF READY (only RR tank we had) with the Modern stand and a megaflow kit, then she tells me the price

ALL BRAND NEW though dusty :
90G 48x18x24 RR single overflow on the left originally 369.99 for 35.00

48x18 AGA black modern stand orginally 549.99 for 52.00

Megaflow accessory bulkhead kit orginally 69.99 for 6.00

plus my 20% employee discount.......... 79.98!!!!! i immediately put the stand in the back of my truck and had my brother pick up the tank. no clue what happend, i'm thinking we're no longer carrying tanks larger than 55G because none of our sister stores in the area do.

2 days later my spidey senses were tingling so i grabbed the product scanner out of the office and checked the rest of aquatics for more deals once we closed, i scored 2 black AGA compact fluorescent single bulb fixtures with 8k bulbs which originally were 129.99each for 9.60each after my discount. even though there garbage they'll atleast make it look nice for a month till i can puchase a 48"x6 NEP.

my total 100.60 for all of it, :bum:
1 receipt says i saved 896.97 on the tank/stand/kit and the other 235.98 on the lights

My local "not to be named 5 letter store" has gotten rid of most of it saltwater supplies. I was surprised. Probably for the best.

That looks like a good deal to me. If I found that deal I think I could convince my wife to let me get it!

DAMN<<><<< what a score.. I thought th 180g RR acrylic with stand and canopy I picked up for $250 the other night was a score but man. Way to come up...... I'd recomend doing a durso standpipe though the stock megaflow ones are pretty noisy IMO..

Great score, welcome to the 90 club.

I work at your competition ;) We just had 20% off all tanks during january, plus I get 15% on top of that, I could have picked up a 125 for $222. I passed though...

I'm planning on starting putting water in this afternoon, just gotta paint my stand and finish up a little plumbing work=)I've been to your store before also so I've probably even seen you before..Well Maybe but man that is still a score Im very happy for you!!!!Post some pics with lights on it when you can I'm curious to see what these ones look like your talking about..

i was going to go with a 40, but it'll take up to much space under the stand, i want enough room to put my top off bucket/ato/reactor.

my brother is going halves on a filterguys Ro/di with me also this payday so i'm thinking about another 2-3 weeks till i get sand and the sump finished.

i also need to go buy a crap load of oceanic salt from my LFS

Ahh good deal I had another stand next to the 90g with my prop tank on top and my auto topoff underneath.. I'm hoping I can fit it in my stand as well under the 180...
