My new light fixture came in yesterday and after setting it up a few questions popped into my head.
I had a 4 X 110 Watt VHO fixture over top of the tank before which had very well aged bulbs. The new fixture is 2 - 250 Watt 14500k Giesemann HQI and 2 - T5's (one bulb midday, one bulb actinic plus).
I set the fixture 8.5" from the water level and plan to acclimate using short daily intervals of the halides with the T5's on for 12 hrs.
Questions: What would be a good start for time intervals of the halides?
Also, since I have only one actinic T5 with the 14500k HQI's is that enough in the blue spectrum for the corals or should I add another actinic?
