Interceptor Question

ok i just dosed my tank with a full 100 - 150 lb dog pill . i have about 380 gallons worth of water. Now im going to wait the 6 hours.

-is it better to wait longer?

- can i just run the skimmer afterwards for a few hours and dose another full pill?

Do you have crabs and shrimp you hope will make it? If so, stop at 6 hours. Otherwise it won't hurt to let it ride longer from my understanding.

You can wait longer. Most things I have read show that the dosage isn't so much important as the length of the dosage. I think that if you have a total volume of ~380g then you're better off doing a large WC, running carbon and your skimmer, and then dosing again in 7 days. The 'standard' treatment is doing a 6-10 hour dose once a week for three weeks.

25mg of a crushed 51-100lb dog tablet per 10g if you want to get technical, I think

aslavatortin is right on with that. I think each pill is 1 gram, thus the 1 pill per 400g rule.

ok i waited 10 hours and i dont see no red bugs no were anymore and all looks good.

- for future knoledge how do i treat new frags before i put them in my tank.

-are only sps the ones i would want to treat or do i do all things? like mushrooms , lps, leathers, zoos????

I now dip EVERYTHING in Revive, then give a good visual inspection.

I dip everything before it goes in my tank... If I don't know where the frags came from, or I know they came from suspect conditions, I'll dip in interceptor and fluke tabs for 6hrs before adding them to my display...

I ran upwards to 20 hours on the in tank interceptor treatment.

I used 1 tablet in a 300 +/- system

I had a pretty bad infestation, at 12 hours I still saw a couple. I ran the first treatment for 14 hours, but saw a new batch later that week. A second treatment for 16 hours did the trick

I'm about to treat my tank for the first time. I don't have a huge problem (I can only see red bugs on two of my acros), but want to address it before it gets any worse. That may not take long since my entire water volume is only ~50g.

O yes they will all die, I put mine back into the tank a little too early i guess cause a bunch died today.
