Are 400 w hqi's safe? for my corals?

hello all, i currently have a 250 w hqi hamilton setup and i want to upgrade to 400 w , but i only want to keep my lights about 6 inches off the tank . now my 250 's dont seem to be a prob, but will 400's bleach corals my tank is somewhat new so i dont have any corals yet but i want to do mainly sps with 14k spectrum, and lps stuff down low, alos my tank is a 120 48x24x24

Kinda close on the height.I just broke down a 120 and ran 2 400 watters/ 150 de in the rear middle / plus 2 t-5 's . I never bleached anything but I always ran higher kelvin bulbs 14k to 20k . I like it blue . It gave me a lower safer par too .
