My current skimmer will not be adequate for a new system I want to build. I plan on running the new skimmer off of one system pump. Which skimmer do the chemistry folks recommend?

Sorry, Cliff, I've not compared commercial skimmers in a long time.

There are some threads in the large tank forum that recommend the skimmer. Here is one that I read

The Reeflo's are a beast. Would love to have one once this whole Depression, oops I mean recession is over :)

At around $1,200.00, the Reeflo 250 Pro should be a beast. :)

I might have to wait til the "Depression" is over too. ;)

I'm hearing/reading a lot of buzz about the Octopus skimmers now -- and they are priced for those of us who are in permanent financial depression.
BTW, you'd probably have better luck asking this in the "Lighting, filtration and other equipment" forum.

I have searched through the other forums. :)

However, I feel more confident that many of the hobbyists who post in the Chemistry Forum are more likely to take into account articles such as those listed below and may have a different perspective: :)

Perhaps, one does not have to spend an arm and leg to acquire a skimmer that is very effect? Maybe just an arm will suffice? :D

A Euroreef recirculating skimmer or Octopus, Warner marine, and Vertex, Deltec. Always get a skimmer rated twice the tank size.

Very good skimmer for that size of a tank.

Nice article you may want to read about evaluating the claims so many mfg firms put out about their skimmer performance:
