I have a controller and dosing pumps (GHL PII Ex to be exact) and I want to get the UltraLith system on the dosing pumps...

I also run the baling method on this controller... so basically i'm the poster-boy for FaunaMarin :)

How much of these products can be setup on a dosing pump and controller? Has anyone done this? What works? What doesn't work? What are the risks?

What about power-trace elements as well?

I am pretty sure that reefrockerlive doses quite a few of his Fauna Marin products with his Profilux doser.

Vinny can you chime in and share your experience please?

Most of the UltraLith system products can be safely dosed via dosing pump. I've been doing this for almost 4 months and have not noticed any issues. UltraMin S and Ultra Bak can be run through a dosing pump, but UltraBio should still be dosed by you since the dosing pump cannot dose anything less than 1ml.

I am also using my Profilux Dosing pumps to dose the PowerTrace elements and again, this is not a problem. Just keep in mind that the bottles should be placed in an area that is not exposed to direct sunlight.

I asked this before, but are you diluting any of the products with RO/DI water, or just running them straight from their bottles into the system?

Also, how many products are you dosing? There are quite a few...

Hiya

You cant dilute the product thats the only one thing you cant do.

Most people dose the trace elements and the bak and Min-S

Excellent!

Assuming both Baling and Ultralith are being used, how many products are being dosed? I think I need a few more dosing pumps... haha..

3 for balling
6 for lith

Total 9

3 stage for the balling
4 stage for lith +1 extra

If you were really going to do this then this is my suggestion

SA doser3 running the Balling (built in controller version)

Doser 4 with a doser 2 daisy chained together running off the ProfiLux for ultra lith. This leaves you 1 station from the 2 doser for ATO etc

Wowzers... Yes, I'm really planning on doing this. I have a 4 stage now, so I need a 3 and another 4.. I was just talking to someone this evening about using any leftover dosing pumps for ATO... I'll speak to my local guy further... maybe a dosing pump sale is coming from GHL.. /wink

Talk to Lorin (kidney514) he has found an approved way of increasing the amount of dosing pumps you can use on a profiLux

At the moment the total is 8 pumps, this is why I said you would need a stand alone, but talk to Lorin he can guide you on a work around.

the PIII is coming, eventually even if it is 6 more months I'm not so lazy that I can not manually dose some things for awhile... haha...

Thanks Muchly.

I use a dosing pump as my ATO and it works great!

The optical sensor can detect 15ml of water being removed from my tank. :)

I haven't increase the amount on dosing pump, just found a way for people that have 3 digital powerbar (18 sockets), like me, to have 6 dosing pump, which was impossible before.

Ultra-Bio is ONLY dosed during initial set-up and after changing Ultralith stones, correct?

Correct unless you are not running full ultra lith then it is dosed along with ultra bak to remove high nutrients
