I just picked up an SP 3000 Dosing Pump. Went to set it up tonight and it wont spin reliably. I greased the hose really well and worked it a bit before I installed it. It gets to the toughest spot in the rotation and starts sputtering.

Anyone have any ideas?

Thanks
Scott

Sounds like you got a dud. I have one...worked well for a few months...then problems drawing water...not sure what my issue is.

That is normal for a new hose. I have three of those units and every time a new hose is used it takes some massaging and a liberal coating of fett. Once you do get it turning, it will be fine until you need a new hose.

:D

Crazy4salth2o....Maybe your back siphon valve became clogged with kalk? They should last much longer than that.

I greased my hose pretty well and I will continue to work with it until it softens up.

Having it stick or sputter won't affect the motor will it?

Yeah, it was a concern of mine too when the units were new. No problems with the motors ever on any of my sp3000's. Only one units hose went bad after two years of dosing kalkwasser, and I think it was from running dry. The ones servicing my other tanks are still going strong.

You'll see, once the motor makes it a full 360 degrees, it should be able to turn without problems after that.

Mine makes the full turn and then starts sputtering again. Sometimes it will make 8 or 9 complete revolutions before it stops. By working the first hose I actually torn it. Good thing theres a backup in the box.

Anyone else have this problem with theirs?

Has anyone replaced the motor?
