Do you guys turn off your skimmer when feeding oyster egg or phytoplankton?

I dont turn off the skimmer but I do reduce the flow in my aquarium during feeding time.

I probabaly should, but I don't turn off anything. I feed Brine Shrimp Direct's Golden Pearls 5-50 micron food, and it stays suspended in the water for a very long time. It is a great food and a lot cheaper than DT's oyster eggs.

What are you feeding the phyto to?

I haven't fed either directly, but I do feeds Rod's food, which has several small micron foods. I also turn off my skimmers for about two hours post feeding.

Some guys turn the skimmer off to keep the oyster eggs suspended in the water longer. The skimmer will begin to pull the oyster eggs out of the water immediately, but I find that my corals are satisfied without turning anything off. Fish just go nuts when I feed Oyster eggs, and then I feed them whatever is on the menu that day.
