View Full Version : Which "Lugol's" Iodine should I get?

I'll be using this as a zoa dip, not an ongoing supplement. I'm looking at Marine Depot and see several choices from Kent, Warner, Britewall, etc.
Also...doing a Google search, several other choices come up. It seems every online pharmacy has their own "Lugol's Solution".
I'm also noticing that there are different concentrations to choose from. Should I be looking at the Iodine or Potassium Iodide concentration?
Sorry for all of the questions but this is expensive stuff and don't want to end up with one of the magic potions that are to common in this hobby.

I have always used Kent's as it works very well for me and those who have used it.

There is also mention in the description of using this with a "Concentrated Iodine Supplement and Tech I"

I use Tropic Marine Coral Pro.... best one I've used so far. I still have Lugols just in case I run out of TMPCC.

Do you use the TMPCC for dip or supplement?

DIP, its used for ALL corals. More expensive than Lugols. but from what I've read its better for knocking off hitch-hickers off the corals. But will not kill eggs, that you remove manually.

I don.t know how much better it can be as every time I use kent's lugals all kinds of things come flying out and die immediately.
