So I've got a 90 gallon that's been set up for a while now, and I've only got maybe... a dozen or so snails in here right now. How many should I have and is there a good rule-of-thumb to determine how many should go into a tank?

Also, I've got about... 110lbs LR and another 20 or so in my fuge, if that makes any difference.

If your tank has been set up for a while, you're probably right on target. All those "one snail per every two gallon" rules end up with a bunch of dead snails once the initial algae bloom is over. I run seven mid-sized trochus snails in my 65, and that's plenty.

Thanks man! I'm thinking of adding a couple more, mostly because this is primarily a mushroom/softie tank so there's more nutrients and thus more diatoms and whatnot on the glass. Good thing I didn't get the one snail per every 2 gallons, otherwise I'd have a smell tank :)
