the zeovit system starts by adding the zeovit rocks they claim this attracts amonia before it breaks down into other compounds upon reading many many articles on zeolite there are 50 kinds none of them can attract amonia in salt water they can in fresh water when i put that in the zeovit fourem they have the people danced around it saying oh the founder of zeovit thomas pohl uses 3 or 4 differnt kinds of the rock to get that result no zeolite removes amonia in salt water what did thomas pohl find a special mine where this rock is lol doubtful if a company claims this work they should have the proof it does they dont it just beacause thomas pohl says so that it does work hell with all the other scientest like fedrick mumpton that says it does not i believe him he aint trying to market it

The ammonia theory where one suggests the bacteria get ammonia from the zeolite, whether the zeolite binds any or not, is an incorrect and scientifically unsupportable hypothesis. The zeolite is just a convenient place for bacteria to grow. It may be optimized for that purpose in a variety of ways (surface area, etc), but the ammonia binding is not any part of the bacterial growth process, IMO.

FWIW, clinoptilolite likely can bind some small amount of ammonia from seawater, but that does not make it available to bacteria. IMO,, if anything it makes it less available until the zeolite is saturated, then it has no impact.

thanks randy but the claim the rocks asorb the amonia in the water before it has a chance to break down to nitrite the nitrate in return it will lower your nitrate levels

Not significantly or detectably with the amount that is removed on what zeo recommends using.

That is another claim, and it is not significant over time, as mentioned above. :)
