I was wondering if anyone would know how much lighting I would need for a 210g tank mixed with corals and fish. I have a shark and plan on putting a few more fish in thier but would like to have some corals as well they would be kept towards the top of the tank so i could keep the bottom free for the shark and other fish. I have vhos and power compacts already on thier and was wondering about metal halide lighting for the corals

Definitely would recommend MH lighting. I am sure you will find all kinds of info on lighting in other threads. Different corals have different lighting needs. Will you build lights with retro kits or are you looking for a fixture? I would run at least 4 mh's on a tank that size, imo.

i belive first you have to be clear wath coral type would you like get. SPS´s and LPS´s have diferents requeriments of ligths and flow, you have to regard also the depth tank.
