I'm Building a 90gallon with 2 250w with 2 Lumen Max Elite reflectors and not sure how to setup fans.

The back of canopy is mostly closed off.

What is the goal when it comes to cooling a canopy?

Is the point to keep the bulbs cool? or just to remove heat from the canopy so the water doesn't cook?

I was thinking I might be able to do 1 on each side (sucking in) and 2 in the rear (sucking out)

the ones "sucking out" will pull moist air thru them & corrode very fast. best is to have 1 or 2 in each side blowing inward to push air across the lights & leave some type of opening in the top to let the hot air that will naturally rise to the top via convection currents an exit

if you want to prevent the light from coming out the top like a movie premier (lol) you can cut a slot 1" wide by however long & then make a piece that is 1/2" wider in each direction & mount it on legs. that leaves plenty of room for the air to escape & cuts out most of the light from coming out.....or at least keeps your canopy from looking like the Luxor hotel in las vegas

I agree with the above post. Best to have the air blowing across the lights. I would put one on the left and right side blowing air in and then maybe one on the top pulling air out. This seems like it would be the most effective this way.

Good luck
