Is a 10 gallon to small to quarantine a Tang

I would think yes, because they require alot of swimming room and should be in QT for 4-6 weeks. It would probably also depend on size though.... a small one would probably be okish (meaning it could be worse I guess lol).

Tang is medium 3 to 4 inches

then I would think that it would be quite stressed in that tank. I would be thinking more along the lines of a 3 foot tank. It kind of depends what you can afford and have room for

Since your main tank is a 125g, I would advise getting a 55g to use as a hospital/QT.
This would give you enough room for all your fish if/when you need to use it in the future.
They can usually be found used on craigslist or in the newspaper for pretty cheap.
You don't even need a stand or light for it, just an airstone, heater, and sponge filter or hob filter and you're all set.
You can just set it up on the floor somewhere out of the way when you need to use it and dry it and store it on end in the closet when not in use.

Yeah it is definitly to small, the tang would stress and die almost certainly. Another poster lost one similar size in his 30g (cause unknown for certain, but size definitly didn't help). I agree w/ MotherFish, a 4'+ tank 55g+ would be best honestly, also keep in mind you may need the QT when the tang is 8,10+ inches down the road (depending on what tang could be much larger even) so obviously the bigger the better, and the 10g is definitly a no go, sorry.

I would also go with a 55 gallon tank. It will be much more versitle in the future.

That really depends. If you don't have to treat it (( Or if you don't use any copper based meds )), you should be able to use it for something else --- if you clean it properly after using it.

Knock on wood, I have never treated for ick, but this thread should help a lot.
