I have a calcium reactor made by Precision Marine. Ive had it for about 4 months now. The only thing i hate about it and i know its not normal is everyday i have to open the valve more and more for water to come out. I have a MJ 1200 pushing the water threw to my reactor. Can someone please tell me what is going on?

sounds like your valve is getting clogged in some way....can you put a bigger valve on it....check to see if it has calcified..

what is the water source? You might need a prefilter. Is it getting clogged by gunk in the water.? I feed all my filters from the return water.

The above two suggestions are most likely right. I would check out the MJ-1200 and see either what's clogged or if the propeller is possibly calcified (Maybe grinding?)

i just put a new mj 1200 on there like a week ago so im kind of ruling that out.

clean out the valve with a pin....if it remains clogged....put a bigger valve on it.....

it's probably pressurized. you must have trapped air somewhere. do you have
a bleed valve on your reactor?
experiment with the effluent line above the waterline of the reactor.

mr.pluto is right ---- very often when you have too much co2 buildup it will stop water flow (or slow it down). check the valve above the water line to release access of co2. and if that is the case - make sure to adj co2 to less bubbles per min.

You might want to try to put a valve on the eff. ouput line to create some back presure. That worked for me on my old reactor.

Just a thought.
