Ati BM160 and microbubbles

I just recently changed out the Sicce pump on my bm160 after it stopped producing that nice thick foam head. It's skimming like a beast again but now it's spewing out noticeably more microbubbles into the tank. My setup has not changed at all except the new pump. It's still sitting in 8 inches of water just like before. Any ideas guys or perhaps a solution to the microbubbles? Thanks

In your sump is it just a old tank with the skimmer and the return pump? Baffles are use so the water flows down like a waterfall then ducks under the next wall that has a 1'' inch gap from the bottom. This way the bubbles will not go back into the tank. Hope this helps
