I just bought some feather caulerpa the other day and now the water is cloudy and you can see alot of dust swirling...any harm from this?

Possibly I suppose, I've had several different types of calaupa for years and never had a problem but have read that could happen

It releases all the nutrients that it has taken in so your nitrates can spike.
