Green algea on glass doesn't come off

I have this green algea growin gon my glass and a lot of it doesn't come off, even if I scrub hard with my hands. Does anyone know what this is and how to get rid of it?

Try a blade, like the Kent Marine Pro Scraper.

+1, That's what we use at the aquarium. A few acids also do the trick but ya, a little obvious why that won't help.

I was thinking about a blade but wasn't sure if it was safe on the glass or if i would scratch it.
