I guess another way to ask the question is if the conditions are met for clams, will that too be appropriate for softies? I'm assuming that necessary distances are kept between them to negate warfare. Thoughts? Thanks for the help.

If clams are happy in your tank (=good Ca and Alk), then softies certainly will be too.

No problems with tridacnas and softies.

Do you need lot of light for those clams?

In general, yes. Tridacna clams tend to need much more light than most soft corals. The softies can usually adapt to handle strong lights, but the clams don't do so well under weak lights.
