View Full Version : Tang mowing down zoas

Lately my acan. nigrican(whitecheek) has been having his way with a bunch of my zoas. I recently got rid of a foxface, who i witnessed eating my xenia and all of my orange zoas, and now my tang is following in his "footsteps". He is by no means under fed. He did however get fed selcon/zoe soaked food everyday for 2 months while in QT (a month ago or so), and now he is on just frozen mysis and cheato/nori like everyday.

Any ideas on how to make him stop? If any..!

And how common is it for tangs to eat zoas?

Or could he be simply picking at algea deep inside..I know my tank is lacking in the algea dept.

Get it out of the tank is the only thing to do....

I had a similar issue with one of my Tangs. I moved the zoas to my fuge for a week or so. Then when I put them back in the DT, I placed them in different locations from where they were originally. (I only had 2 colonies to deal with at the time).
