I asked this in another forum. I would like to change out my 8 bulbs in my light. I currently have T-5's. 4 blue and 4 white. I need to do two things if possible. I need the strongest I can get to reach light to the whole tank so that coral toward the bottom of the tank will thrive as well. I also would like to bring out the purple and blue's alot more. This is a large expense which is why I am asking this in this forum as well. I want to do this right and would like to know what is working and looking nice. Here is a combination I ended up with from the other forum.
4x ATI Blue +
1x ATI Aquablue
1x UVL Super Actinic
1x UVL Aquasun
1x Fiji Purple or UVL 75/25

Here is a pic of the tank.

I would swap and use 2 75/25 and remove the super actinic . Or again swap out the super actinic with another Aquablue or Aquasun .
BTW since it's a 120 and the brains at the bottom look good . What's the issue ? What bulbs are u using now . It looks great the way it is cept for the little algae issue .

I would like to move some of the SPS's to the bottom or middle. I also am simply jealous of all the tanks I see on RC and how good their lighting is. I think the blue and purple lighting tinge to their tanks looks awsome. So I guess it comes down to preference.

What would I benefit by using the 2 75/25's and removing the super actnic if you don't mind me asking.

. A super actinic put out like 210 on par .Get's totally washed out . It's used to help blend an Aqua Sun. Which is why it's in ur suggested list . U got enough blue in the combo suggested already . A 75/25 par is around 250 range . Fiji Purple could be substituted for both 75/25 and it cranks out a whopping 330. It is the most costly bulb out of this bunch . I use one atm but should have gotten 2 .
Food for thought
Another bulb not mentioned that I have been eyeing but not tried is a way cheaper Hagen 18k Power glow . It looks deeper pink than a aw but not as purple than a Fiji or 75/25 . Fiji ,75/25 and Powerglow 18k are all used to bring out pink ,red and purple color .

Thanks Mordibv. Just when things get narrowed down I find I have a few more things to research now. Thanks for the help.

These are the two combinations I have so far. Like Mordibv said, it might be to blue though.

4x ATI Blue +
1x ATI Aquablue
1x UVL Super Actinic
1x UVL Aquasun
1x Fiji Purple or UVL 75/25

Blue+
Aquablue Special
Fiji Purple
Blue+
Super Actinic (unkown slot)
Fiji Purple
Aquablue Special
Blue+

Does anyone feel this would be too much blue. My goal is to bring the colors out of all spectrums if possible. I don't want to drown the tank in blue though if this can be avoided.
