so at work we have a 29 gal biocube, and it has been doing just fine, but i have a macro algae problem. right now there is what looks like a dwf caulerpa algae growing on the rocks. it looks just like the standard caulerpa its just a more compact version, it has runners with roots coming from the base of each branch. it grows over anything and everything. i was wondering what the best option would be for removal. i was thinking urchin but i didnt know if it would eat it. i also thought of a small yellow tang or kole tang, and when it did its job i could just put it back into the main system. also we have some nice macro algae we would like to keep such as dragons tounge, and some other type that looks like a branching sps coral, which i am sure that i would have to remove until the other stuff is gone. any help would be greatly appreciated.

a picture would help out a lot.

Off the cuff I would pull as much manually as you can. Nix the lights for a few days. Run a UV and skimmer if you have one, and then turn the lights back on and see where your at.

Repeat as necessary with a week or so inbetween so the macro's you want live.

If you have other macro's in the tank you could also put them over the offending macro to rob it of light for a longer period. Chaeto is good for this.
