Been trying to get a frag for some time now but California seems to be fresh out of Aquarium City Selago.

I believe the aquarium city selago was called the aquarium city red milli when I bought it over 5 years ago from Atlantis Aquarium. I then lost my colony to a power outage, but gave a frag to my good friend. I got a piece back and it now looks like this after 9 months.

My aquarium city coral pics.

I keep it in lower light and flow....and this is the base color of the coral.

Now here is my ora red planet pic.

Hmmm, I wonder where ORA got their red planet?

Here is my red city. Very slow grower. Not the greatest picture.

Yes the AC red milli is a different (but very nice) coral.

i got a red ink selago years ago from eric, but it fell victim to my issues of 07... i dunno if it is the same as what you guys are looking for

the selago has a scaly coralite structure to it like a mille/prostrata, but the terminal/axial coralite is extended ... also the branches arent as fat

just a frag shot (QT/frag tank at work) ... not mature enough for all of those other identifying characteristics

They had some issues with their colony and it is now in reconstruction mode.

I cant believe we cant find this coral.
FWIW - the selago is a blue branching staghorn like coral, it is not the AC red milli, or anything like it.

The piece at AC was beautiful, but I did not see it there last time I visited about a month ago. The last time I saw a big colony here in the bay area, was Sanddollars, and that was maybe 4 years ago.

I hope we can find someone with a frag of this.

http://s488.photobucket.com/albums/rr243/powerboatjim/ Check out pic #5 (top left) that is what one species of selago looks like. It generally throws out one large branch and smaller colonies grow on top of it.

That is a top down pic of a several year old frag.

Jim,

Do you have any frags available. Terra Ferma and I are both in the bay area and have been looking for frags. Send me a PM if you would be willing to ship a few frags.

My AC "Red Millepora". Not 100% sure it is a millepora. bought it as a frag about 2 years ago from Atlantis. It is a fast grower for me.

It was listed as Aquarium City Red Mille. Definitely one of my favorites.

The Aquarium City selago was a bluish/purple coral and it looked incredible when Dustin was taking care of the tank back in the day. Here's a pic of mine before my tank crash.

That's the one we are talking about Slobound! Thanks for the image. I agree, it was an amazing coral when Dustin was taking care of the tank years ago. The store is much different now...

No problem... I wish I still had it but I lost everything in the crash last year.

I'll have to see if I can locate this frag again.

The other popular Aquarium City frags were the red milli (pics already posted on this thread) and the purple formosa.

I actually preferred their baby blue milli to the formosa. Unfortunately, I dont think I have any pictures of it, and I lost my colony in a crash 3 or so years ago.
I do like the red milli, its really nice, but is now pretty common.

I hear ya:lol: How are Kip?

I got mine from Steve Elias way back in the day, probably close to 10 years ago. I lost it a few years back (the curse) Very slow grower but one of my favorite corals. The only person I know who might have it is Eric at FF. The picture Slobound posted is right on.

You might ask over at the So Cal forum. You'd probably have better luck getting one from somebody here then I would. I'll keep my eye out for it at CFM on Sunday.

I sure would like to get it back.
