I recently ordered the float valve and shut off kit and installed it. Works like a charm. My question is when today I bypassed the shut off valve by disconnecting the yellow product hose and inserted a length of tube to fill up some top off jugs the first gallon had a tds reading of .012 then dropped back to .000 for the second. do you think the water sitting in the system for around a week could cause this? If so, when my storage container drops due to evaporation and the auto top off turns on it will be topping off with .012 tds not the .000 i'm looking for? what do you think I should do about this issue?

Hey Antonio,
thanks for the Ku-does unfortunately I did not see this email until today, we have been very busy.

the .012 is from sitting in the RO for the week or so. That small amount of TDS is not going to do any harm especially in only 1 gal of water. I wouldn't worry about it.
other than using the 1st gallon the system makes for drinking or plants or whatever you would have to moniter it all the time to be sure to catch the 1st gal.
