dying chalice

I just recieved my first chalice via overnight shipping. The seller put it in a ridiculously tiny bag with zippo water volume. When I opened it, the water was foul.

Its tissue is sloughing off in long slimy strands. Is there anything I can do to slow it down or stop it from dying more or am i just out of luck?

This is my first chalice, so I don't know what to expect.

Man, that's no fun... The 7 , I got yesterday came in very small bags, 3-4oz of water.. very thing was fine.
If the tissue is like you say, I would say its a goner :( did you contact dealer?

It's been in my tank for about 7 hours now and 85% of the tissue is gone. I contacted the dealer, but haven't heard back yet.

Take a picture with a time stamp so that you have evidence of the condition it arrived in.
