I just spent the last 10 days in S florida and the bahamas. Anyone who lives down there will attest to the cool weather I encountered.
I left my reef in the trustworthy hands of my 15 yr old son. I was very proud to come home to a thriving tank with no problems at all. One of my frags (my flower petal monti cap) had fallen into the sand and has a bleached area where sand had settled on it. Otherwise the frag looks fine. I cant blame him for not noticing, My reef tank is like a real life "wheres Waldo?" Oh yeah, my forest fire digi doesnt look too happy for some reason (top right)
My first picture is of some cool macro algae you guys identified for me a few weeks ago. Neat stuff and its growing fast! You can see the flower pedal monti in the forground...

Here is something that is new. Some kind of macro algae that looks like a bird feather...Any one with an ID for this?

I picked up a new bed today for my lonely clown. He thanked me right away by nestling right in. I have isolated it on this rock from the reef, hoping he will not cross the sand and explore my reef.

My goniapora, as happy as ever. I always worry about this guy just because of their reputation.

My monti cap trio seem to be getting bigger by the day.

This is my fiji coral that almost died after I bought it. I seriously almost thru it away twice. I kept reading how they can shrivel up for extended periods and bounce back. This one went down to golf ball size for like 4 months with no polyps visible and it was even rotting away at the base. It rotted so bad it almost tore away from the rock, it held on by a thread. I cant explain why I kept my hope in its recovery. I am so glad I did. It is one of the prettiest peices I have now! So anyone going thru this with a leather, let this be an inspiration!!

Finally, I picked up a ORA sunrise dottyback today. He is going thru a brutal intitiation from my two little blue damsels. He seams like he has a few moves of his own tho and I trust he'll make friends. Hopefully pictures to come.
Thanks for looking!
