What the hell is a "Hellraiser fungia"?
Do you know the genus/species?
My only guess would be a Heliofungia actiniformis... commonly called a "long-tentacle plate."

It's an exotic fungia/plate coral from ATL that I'm thinking of getting.

Looks pretty photoshopped. Blue all over the place where there shouldn't be any.

hence the reason I'd like to see pic's of it from people who have it before I buy it...

Nope thats the right price. Is that a frag or just a baby plate? Ive never seen a plate fragged b-4, could be a new one for me:crazy1:

I've heard hearsay from people that have supposedly actually seen this coral and they say it looks absolutely stunning! But I've never seen the hellraiser in person, so it's only coming from someone else. Maybe true, may not be true. To bad they don't show any sand in the photo, you could really tell how shopped it is then.

I emailed Ming and asked him if he could send me a better pic of it.

You can get an entire red plate for around $300-$500, why buy a frag? Chances are it won't ever be a nice circle shape.

I just don't understand how someone could try and sell something for $300 and have a picture like that...
here is another red/purple/pink plate:

It doesn't look to have the yellow/orange base and mouth area though.

if you compare the pic's, both places play the same game neither show a full shot of the coral. It's a chance you take, I've been dealing with ATL for years and must say he wouldn't have been around for so many years and getting the money for the corals if he wasn't selling nice stuff.

yeah, i would demand a picture of the whole thing, with gravel around it....who knows...that gravel could be bright pink for all you know...
I think its probably a really nice piece, and being a pic under actinics doesnt bother me in the least, but thats not even in focus....hard to believe they would have a pic like that for something they want 300 for....

I would have to imagine its a baby. I have never heard of some one fragging a plate coral. ATL has a good rep. If theres any place you can trust I would say ATL is the one. I wouold get a full shot though just so your not disappointed.
