How would you fix a leaky overflow? It's HOB brand new, but where the 2 pipes connect it leaks between them. Is there an easy fix? or do I have to drive 1 1/2 hrs 1 way again

How do they connect? Is the leak at the pipe joint or the bulkhead in the bottom of the overflow? Bulkhead rubber gasket should be on the inside, water side of the bulkhead. Nylon thread tape can work wonders if they are threaded connections. If it's a slip connection thread tape can also work temporally but you risk a big time leak if the connection gets pulled apart, so use PVC adhesive and glue it up correctly.

its at the borrom of the bulkhead, I can see silicone on the inside but you can't reach it. It's not threaded, just 2 pvc together. Better to just return it maybe.

Yeah, a bulkhead should seal with just a rubber washer and no need for silicone. PVC will never be held by silicone you need to use PVC cement. Sounds like a poor design of an overflow.

The rubber seal should be against the "fixed" flange of the bulkhead irregardless of whether it's on the inside or outside of the tank.
