Jeff: I was going to install the coralife (though it was Kent?) float valve you sent me today, but it is missing the small plastic tubing lock.

Also, I've been noticing some irregularity in the skimmer. It will be running fine, and then I will notice the chamber is only about half full. If I unplug and restart it fills back up to normal level.

Sup widdat?

Check to make sure that the pump isn't getting something stuck in the intake that is being blown out when you shut it off and the skimmer drains...beware, snails can do a number on those impellers too :)

I'll get you a new float valve out this week (Kent for real this time :)).

I'll certainly take a Kent Jeff, but all I really need is that small little plastic nipple- Coralife calls it a tubing lock :). Maybe the Kent is easier though.

I don't think anything is in the impeller. I took the whole skimmer out yesterday to arrange the sump a little and gave it all a once-over. Hasn't happened today though. I'll just keep an eye on it.

Unfortunately, that was my last coralife valve...I'll check to see if I have any parts around for that one.

Keep us posted on the pump!

The pump is confusing me. I did some work in the tank, and when I came back to the sump it was at half-volume again. I thought maybe I just lost my head due to being in the tank, but when I unplugged and plugged back in it was back to full volume again and held. I'm still eyeing it. Otherwise the skimmer is fantastic. Besides the venturi, the only other thing I'd suggest is a removable bottom.
