How do you guys cover the intake of your powerheads to prevent your anemones from getting sucked in? I have Seio powerheads and was thinking of buying some foam to wrap around it. I am worried that this may (1) put stress on my powerheads and (2) cause nitrates to build up over time if the foam isn't cleaned regularly. Any better ideas?

I cut up a round sponge that came with my tank (( One of the Oceanic sponges for the standpipe )).

I didn't notice and stress on the powerhead, and I rinsed out the sponge with each weekly water change.

Here are some examples of covering powerheads that may help you.

needle point mesh is the easiest way...found in your wallyworld fabrics and sewing section...

Here is what I did with my Seios. Needlepoint mesh and zipties.

My LTA did get sucked up into my powerhead with and without the mesh and it does help prevent alot of damage to the nem.
