i want to add a refugium to my wet/dry system. however, the eshopps 75 cs system is just so tall and not very long. i want to add a 12 gallon glass aquarium as the refugium. the eshopps can just be the sump area for the skimmer. my dilemma will be drilling the sides of the eshopps and the sides of the aquarium to be used for a refugium. the eshopps is 16" high and the refugium will be 13" high. i though of drilling at about 8" with 2 bulkhead ports and runing a couple pieces of PVC bett\ween eshopps and aquarium to be used as a refugium. then i wil baffle the the aquarium and have my return pump in it. sound ok or should i let the level of water in the eshopps go up to 14 inches and only drill it. then the piping can just flow through the top of the new refugium? please advise

Can you somehow position the 12 gal tank above the other sump?

If so, you can then just drill the 12 gal for an overflow and let gravity take the water back to your sump.

I built a stand to raise my refuge up. It's just a cheep HDPE cutting board from target with legs.
