after about 20 seconds

http://joannides.com/HOSTING/iphone7.JPG
the iphone hit problems and had to reload page. about 40 seconds later

http://joannides.com/HOSTING/iphone8.JPG
now the iphone has just started the update again about 3 mins

http://joannides.com/HOSTING/iphone9.JPG
after about 4 mins

http://joannides.com/HOSTING/iphone10.JPG
to get the info on the blackberry all i have to do is highlight the plug. on the iphone i have to click and wait for another screen to load.

http://joannides.com/HOSTING/iphone11.JPG
both screens zoomed into the sensors.

after playing with both phones side by side the iphone had a few problem loading the screens and on the loading percentages it started from the beginning two times. on the blackberry it loaded first time everytime and no problems. the browser on the blackberry is an easier interface to use and looks more smoother.

my OS version on the 3G is 2.2.1
my OS version on the Blackberry is v4.7.0.78 (platform 4.0.0.98)

hope this helps everyone.

 iPhone Owner in shock:eek:
I did notice it was a bit slow using "gotdns" but it was super fast when i was on my own local network, so I assumed it was a "gotdns" issue.

By the way, Great review:D I know that taking pictures of the iPhones display is a real problem because the camera developes Moire lines the minute you get it in focus. I will bow to the Storms speed but I must respectfully disagree on which display looks better :smokin:

Yup RobbyG i was just as disappointed. The BB is streaks faster in loading and loads first time every time.
The bit that gets me is the big grin on jaypjays face when the BB loads so fast.:o

BTW the BB even loaded faster than my Acer laptop with a 3G 7.2 Mbps modem.

Careful RobbyG. The BB has a better display IMO. The graphics are top draw. I have seen the two.
My wife's contract is up for renewal soon. So guess what phone i will be organising.

i have play a trainler of a HD video on both phones and the BB has a noticably better display. although the pics don't do either phone justice, i am still voting for the BB.

FYI i have
2 x iphone 2g
iphone 3g
htc diamond
htc pro
htc touch duo
sony ericsson x1
blackberry storm

but in the past i have had all SE and htc phones and i still think the BB storm is the best phone yet, but i have not been a fan of the bb before the storm.

also the iphone is my second best phone, i think it beats all other phones.

Woooah thats a whole lot of phones that you own, so I will bow to your superior knowledge on the subject

The one big reason why I did not get a Storm was the Lack of Wifi. I think RIM made a huge mistake when they decided not to integrate a wifi receiver into the storm.

Now I know for some that will make no difference because they get great 3G reception everywhere and they have some sort of unlimited expensive Data Plan but for me it was a 100% must that I have wifi because I don't get 3G everywhere and I find that wifi is super fast and the cheapest way to use the phone.

Now the final selling point of the iPhone is the 15,000+ apps at the iStore along with the mired of other "Non Approved" apps you can get. Example yesterday a friend and myself both installed "walkie Talkie" for the iPhone, it's a Voip software that allows two iPhone users to link without going through the phone network but instead using the internet. We now can talk for free so long as we are near a wifi signal.
BTW Im not knocking the Storm, it's a great phone but the iPhone exists in a world of constant upgrades and new gizmo's, while RIM is a closed off company that I doubt will ever allow the same kind of 3rd party apps to develop.

i agree with you that the iphone has far too many apps, i use them myself. i also thought that the lack of wifi wasn't a good idea, but in S.A. we dont have many wifi points, so wifi is only usable when i am home or work. but the unlimited data plan option is only 69 rand, about 7 USD per month so it was a better option. don't worry about knocking the storm like all phones it has problems, also i used the iphone before the storm, now i use it on one of my other numbers.

my wife and I both returned our storms because typing really sucked and text selection and cursor placement was the worst on any device ever. not a good device for power email/sms users, I did like watching ripped dvd's on plains though.

i admit that it is difficult to get use to but after a day of playing i found it very easy. but every time a new phone comes out they change the input interface and you just have to learn it. as a whole the BB is one of the best mobiles for business use.

the worst phone every is a samsung GA. try that then come back to me.

Thats pretty much what I have been reading on the mobile phone forums, but im pretty sure they can fix those problems with firmware upgrades.

Ya the leaked OS for the storm is much better, still has some issues but far better then the official OS I am running .103 on my storm (.75 is the official from VZW) I will agree that the iphones apps make me envious and at times it makes me wonder if I made the right choice in phones, I was coming from sprint so it would have been a new contract either way. The one killer was the fact the iphone can not do picture messages oh and the fact that AT&Ts network is spotty around here, VZW has the best network hands down.

I have not yet set my ethernet adapter back up so I have not tried it on my storm but maybe I will do it this week :)

New Iphone OS Ver 3.0 was demonstrated yesterday.
The really neat feature that would be great for an Aquatronica app is the Push Technology. It will be intersting to see what can be done with all the new things they have added.

They made it sound like it was new technology! MMS has been around for years......new to them maybe, what took them so long to catch up with that?
