Some chaetomorpha in my tank began to grow fairly quickly, and surrounded a small leather finger mushroom for a week or two before I got around to clearing it out. When I did, I found that it had actually mangled the bottom of the stalk of the leather, leaving it really thin and twisted for the bottom inch. Now it seems hard for the leather to stand up well. Would it be good to just cut off that bottom part, and try to re-attach the upper thick part to a new rock with superglue or something?

Thanks

I'VE NEVER HEARD OF ANYTHING LIKE THAT. IF IT WERE ME I WOULD TRY CUTTING IT AND GLUING IT BACK TO A ROCK AND PUTTING IT A QT IF YOU GOT ONE

leave it be, keep the chaeto from tangling around it and it'll be fine
