Xenia

Hi everyone, I made the mistake of adding Xenia to my tank, well it has now taken over my tank. I've sold lots of frags, but it continues to grow like weeds, I cannot control it, and would love to rid it from my tank permanently. I would remove it, and three stalks would come back. I know people who can't grow it, no matter how hard they try. I don't understand!
Any info how to control it would be appreciated. Thanks

When my tank temp once upon a time got into the mid 80's my xenia melted...Not sure I recommend raising the temps, but it certainly seems to be doom to xenia. Can you take the rock out and rub some kalk paste onto the xenia?

I would assume melting xenia would release toxins. Be careful.
I just pull then off with tweezers and kalk the remaining slime puddle.

Next tank, no xenia for me! (or cloves for that matter)

Thanks, I don't think I want to try melting it, guess gonna continue pulling it off, and trying the kalk.

I love Xenia, sell it or trade for other frags.

Take it to a LFS and trade them for a piece of rock without xenia on it or store credit... I got $50.00 store credit for good sized Xenia rock, and i traded them for a huge chalice colony. They didn't even know that it was a chalice.
