looks good but i think you should get rid of some of those green mushrooms on the left and get something else there:)

try some rock adjusting to make a cove, some vertical focal point would be a nice change. Then a nice new coral for the owner as reward...lol

Over 10 years. I really work hard on the aquarium during the Winter months as I have 2 jobs during Spring, Summer and Fall. How would I re-arrange the rock to make a cove? Do you mean in the center of the tank?? Thanks.

Looks very nice! I would upgrade your power heads tho. Those powerheads are notorious fish killers. I have lost 2 yellow tangs to similar power heads before I upgraded to koralias.

Maybe try to elevate some of the rockwork or create a valley by opening up part of the middle section. Agree with jbird, koralias would be a significant flow upgrade and are generally safer and less power-consuming. 10 years holy cow!

Yeah, time flies when your having fun (or working all the time). One of the powerheads killed a rose anem after it split. Man did that suck!!!

Some elevated rockwork with a large coral. You have a lot of green stuff - some color would make a difference.

how do they kill things? i have one of them and they seem fine.

The anem was crawling around then attached to the intake. When the PH turned on it was shredded anem all over the place. It was a bad day

the intake is so small if a fish gets stuck to it...especially a flat fish with a lot of surface area, like a tang... it may not be able to free itself. Put your palm under it and feel how strong the suction is.

+1 on the green coloration. Unless that's what your going for, some red, purple, or yellow would make it more dynamic imo

i'm not sure what K bulbs you have, but it looks like they are on the low side from the picture. Maybe during the next bulb change change the bulb K to a higher K value to really bring out the fluorescence

great tank. i'd thin the shrooms a bit too and trade them for some other stuff. they can take over a tank. i'd also build some risers out of PVC, eggcrate, and zip ties to get the rock off the bottom. like what's pictured here:

http://www.ultimatereef.com/articles/002/

if you take some time, you can cover it all and it looks natural.

all the junk can collect behind the rocks with the "pile against the back" method. your fish will be happier too as they will have more places to swim and hide. your improved flow will really make a difference then with the new powerheads, if you choose to go that route. this would also give you some height to the structure.

idea: frag mags. happy w/ mine :) http://aqua-mags.com/

I like the tank, but agree with getting the rockwork a little higher up in the tank. You can build any kind of bracing and zip-tie the rock to it. My gallery has a pic of my rockwork all supported by drilled PVC and only had to use 2 zip-ties! And under your tank description, if you think that tang is ugly, i'll take it off your hands! I love Scopas Tangs!

Second the live rock, try to me more creative, I built a PVC frame to elevate the structure which actually filled up my tank but is hollow on the inside.

Looking good....I might suggest some vertical height with a few gorgonians.

yeah, i would get the higher spectrum bulbs as well.

as for verticle height, make a huge over hang, and underneath put some sun coral.(the yellow one that doesn't like a lot of light, right) i can never remember names.

that would be sweet.

oh and a huge lightning sponge. bling bling.
