Few questions regarding glass tank sales at That Fish Place. First, what times of the year to you guys offer discounted prices on aquariums? I believe the April anniversary sale is one, just not sure if there are also others. Are these discounts generally across the board (ie 10% off all) or are they manufacturer/size specific?

Different question regarding custom tank purchases. I have heard bits and pieces on forums about the big manufacturers (Oceanic, All Glass, Perfecto) doing customization work upon request... is this in fact available? If so, what manufacturer(s) of the three offer it? Without going into detail, my request is aimed at what I view as inadequate drain configurations in the Reef Ready setups. I could just drill a non-tempered pane myself, but would rather just get it built that way, if possible. No biggie, just curious!

thanks! :)

The two main events that we offer tank sales are at the spring Anniversary Sale, and the Fall Customer Appreciation Sale. We are finalizing the sale items as we speak for the spring show, and should have them advertised very soon. There are other times throughout the year that we will offer sales on discontinued and overstock item, these are harder to predict. The best way to keep up with all our sales is to get yourself on our mailing and email lists, and you can also check our Website under the sales and events link in the information center.

As far as custom work from our tank manufacturers, that is also available. You can get custom holes drilled, overflow boxes moved, or added on the AGA, and you can get custom sizes and designs from Perfecto, and to some degree Oceanic. We can also get custom glass tanks from Deep Sea Aquatics, and in Acrylic. If you are looking for a standard tank with custom holes, that is easily done, and you get the benefit of keeping your manufacturers warranty on the tank (which you void if you drill the tank yourself) All custom work is done on a quote basis, let us know what we can help you with

Thanks,
Dave

Wow, great info! That’s a TON of options. I was possibly looking into the Oceanic Ultimate 120g, but drilling myself on a beautiful, brand new $500 tank was a scary thought. I’ll have to think about which direction I want to go and I will be in contact with you.

Thanks again :)

Dave,

Regarding custom aquariums, can they be shipped directly from the manufacturer (deep sea aquatics for example) to my home yet be purchased through that fish place?

thanks

We have done some drop ship deliveries on aquariums in the past, and can get a quote for you if you are interested, however cost can be prohibitive for home delivery. With Perfecto in particular, you will save a considerable amount on large aquariums if you can pick them up here at the store. We get the custom tanks shipped to us with our regular deliveries, and do not pass along any additional freight to the customer. AGA and Oceanic do not offer drop ship options.

Thanks,
Dave
