Hi guys, I was just wondering if anyone had tips on how to feed a royal gramma. My tank just finished cycling and i was wondering how to get a gramma to eat, since he hasn't come out of hiding in the live rock. He is the only fish, and i want to minimize uneaten food (ammonia) since my tank is so young. Thanks!

I have a flame angel that won't eat if I am standing near the tank, but if I stand about 10 step back it pigs out.

I would make sure i was feeding the same as wherever you got it from. I would also leave the room like CNLHolman. My gramma used to hide but now he's always out. Just takes a little time for him to get used to you.

thanks! I'm going to go feed him for the first time now. I'll post how it goes.

Had the same problem with a Damsel. Now he rushes to the front of the QT tank when I come to feed him. Shouldn't all Damsels be female? :p

My royal gramma hid for about 5 minutes and then was out and about since. Ate the first night and everything.

I'd try feeding with mysis as I've heard it's great for finicky eaters.

I just gave him a pinch of flakes, stood back, and he was eating in seconds. He's hiding now, but I'm just happy he ate. thanks for the advice
