I've got a JBJ 28 Gallon HQI tank that is my display tank. I'm wanting to hook up a 10 gallon tank next to it for fragging. I'm wanting to run the tanks to each other so that the water is all circulating together for more total volume and same chemistry so that it is easy to move things from one to the other. What would be the best way to hook the 2 together so that there is no chance of flooding and the water circulation and quality stays good? Thanks

Dustin

Pics would help too if you have done something similar.

Drill the 10 gallon for an overflow, not a hob overflow.

Share the common sump with two independent return pumps. You can also run one return pump T'd off to feed both tanks with ball valves so you can adjust how much water goes to each.
