It would be the 36" 4 bulb fixture. Mainly soft and lps with some hard corals mainly monticaps. The price is so good, compared to the 6 bulb fixtures. Also the 40 breeder is not very deep. Thanks for your opinions.

link broken, but i have a 4x39 t5 over my 40B and most anyone i speak with tells me i can keep anything under those lights. as long as it's an individual reflector fixture you'll be just fine.

oh okay, now it works...

that's the second option i was considering when i bought my tek. from what little i know about it, it's a very comparable fixture and would be just fine over a 40 breeder.

Where did you get your tek light? Is the price comparable? And do you have a glass top, as i really dont want to have any top with this tank.

i ordered mine through my lfs. it was a little bit more expensive than the nova but i felt good about it based upon reviews here and elsewhere. I don't have a glass top, I bought the mounting legs for it. the only things I would change about the purchase would be adding the acrylic shield, as the reflector on mine has become tarnished after i had a long period of hospitalization followed by a time when i could not clean it, and perhaps a fan if that shield was in place. as it stands now the fixture runs quite cool, but i would be concerned a little with the shield in place, trapping heat. another mounting option is to suspend the fixture, if that's reasonable with your placement.

I would like to just suspend the fixture im looking at but i dont know if they sell a kit for that one.
