I have a huge predatory flat worm! I found a dead snail on the rocks this evening. I thought it was strange but the shell was empty so I figured it died and was eaten. Later I found another dead snail in the same place so that got me suspicious. Just a minute ago I saw it attacking a large turbo snail in the same area. I tried to grab it but it slithered into a small hole in the rock. That rock is half covered with zoa's that have spread from another rock so removing it isn't really feasable. I'm tempted to squirt boiling water into the rock but I'm afraid of it releasing toxins and I just added $300 worth of SPS to my tank. My qt developed a leak so moving my coral/fish there is not an option.

Any suggestions?

Here is what I know about this guy so far. He is big, he was over an inch wide and two inches long and part of him was still in the rock, I have no idea how much. He was in a hole in the rock smaller than 1/4" in diameter. He is largely an ambush hunter, attacking snails and who knows what else when they get close to his hiding spot. He wasn't passive but in full attack mode.

I went ahead and blew boiling hot water down the hole I saw him go back into, however it was about an hour after I saw him and I have no idea if I got it or not. It really freaked me out when I saw it, especially since he had already killed two snails in one day. I kind of hope I didn't get him with the hot water, I'd like to learn more about his behavior and capture him if possible. They reportedly eat clams but so far he has not bothered my electric blue Crocea.

He looks very close to the large predatory flat worm on Melev's website pictured here;
