dumb dumb dumb...
that's how I'm feeling. Id been pretty careful about quaratine since I set up my tank, other than once incedent when the fish bag broke pulling it out of the box, and a goby went straight in my tank.
So in the last few days I've been all proud of myself with the sailfin tang I rescued from petsmart (free because he was so beat up being in with some grumpy clowns). Nursed him back to health and he's eating like a pig in a little 35 gallon. All of that with NO ICK.
So monday, I was staring at my tank before work... little blurry eyes and thought I saw spots on my crosshatch trigger. He's mostly recovered from caving a mess of rock down on himself. looked ok that night. Well.. more tuesday, and he's worse today.... yup marine ICK.. now a couple others seem to have it as well.
On to the kicking myself part. a couple weeks ago, I bought most of the insides of a guys tank, and well, didn't have anything set up to quarantine all the rock and fish. (Tang was in my hospital tank) I reasoned his tank was an algea filled mess, but basically healthy... and he hadn't added anything in ages... should be OK...
NOPE... now I guess I need to figure out how to get a dozen or so fish out of a 225 gallon tank with 350+ pounds of live rock... this is not going to be a fun weekend.
and the question. I don't have a spare tank big enough for all of them, but I do have one of those plastic pre formed ponds I've never used. Anyone used one for salt water... will that work, or does everyone get crammed in a 55 and 29 gallon tank.
