I hear they can be contained if they are isolated. I am not so sure that is 100% true. Would like to get some testimonial feedback on how far your polyps jumped or traveled.

Haven't ever had any jump at all. I don't see how it would be possible, unless a fish or hermit tears up the mat and it floats away.

I started out with a patch approx 3"x3" and they spread everywhere. I had to move several rocks to a 165 gallon that is now dedicated to GSP. I would never again buy these.

I don't think they can jump. They will overgrow anything they touch except sand. Sand will isolate them on their own rock. they will grow on glass also so don't put them up to the side of the tank. Mine is a year old and still looks like this but a little thicker because they overgrow themselves. http://i461.photobucket.com/albums/qq339/surge19us/CIMG0710.jpg

"Jump" might be overstated, but mine have reached across 6" of empty space to get to the neighboring rock.

Yea, jumped, reached, floated, spewed seeds..... anything they have done on thier own to proliferate in the tank when you thought, could have SWORN, they were self contained............or not.

Ive had a 3x3 ball of it isolated on an island near the back of my tank for about 6 months and it hasn't spread at all.

In my 30g I had a batch that seemed to have died. A few months later I found them growing on one of my original rocks somehow, they must have had a small section float over and begin spreading.

ooooooh, now thats the scary stuff I was looking for. I wonder if they do that voluntarily? Yu know, like self preservation or something?
