So I am considering setting up my new tank in front of a small window in my house and am unsure if this will cause temperature swings. Is there a good way to insulate the tank to keep this from occuring. I am unsure what to use to insulate or where the insulate(the back of the tank). Any and all suggestions are appreciated. Thanks

Sunlight will heat water and the whole room, including local overheating of some corals, if water flow is low there.
Sorry, I have no solution to offer, unless somebody is always home, can watch temperature rise and turn on the fan or half close the blinds.
The main problem is during summer time, unless it or air-conditioned room. During winter there were not much problems, if 70F in the room and the tank near the large southern window (Great Lakes area, not Arizona) :)
Insulation will keep heat in the tank too, curtains should be sufficient, if room is not overheated by sun.

Temperature controlled fans will help but are probably insufficient.
