anyone have a seaclone skimmer that works well? mine is descent and produces alot of bubbles and waste. everyone says to ditch it?

I am running the seaclone 100 on a 30 gal and is working pretty good. I replaced the air adjuster valve that it came with one I can controll the air flow much more percise and works much better. I have so much foam being produced at times it is rising out of the vent hole in the collection cup lid. There are alot of different modifacations out there people recomend doing but I have only replaced the air adjuster. A buddy of mine is useing one on a 55 gal with no luck at all. It is by far no where near the best skimmer out there but I am fairly pleased with it on my small tank for now.
