I've had a pair of true percula clowns for 5 years, until one of them died about 1 1/2 months ago. I've bought a new clown. Its supposed to be a true percula, but I'm not 100% convinced that it is a true percula - might be a false percula instead. Anyway, after having the new percula (jouvenile) in the quarantine tank for two weeks, I moved it to the display tank. Its doing fine there. But, its coloration is significantly different from the 5 yr old. The 5 yr old is a very rich orange color. The new percula does not have anywhere near the dark orange color. Since its been 5 years since I initially got my clown fish, I don't remember if it originally started out lighter in coloration and then got darker as it matured. So that's my question - do percula clowns develop a darker orange coloration as they mature. I know that that's true of the black lines.
