The link you have posted is a C. lunlulatus & that's what they have it listed as.

There's nothing wrong with their listing? (Other than the fact they're selling a coralivore, and they are overpriced by $100 ;) )

Don't worry, Michael. They have made errors in their seahorse and lettuce sea slug postings.

Sorry everyone. I contacted them and they changed it. They had the spieces listed as Chaetodon speculum.

Looks like a pretty nwbish site to me. They have it listed that they can get peppermint angels. Yeah right. Plus, I kind of find it bothersome that they have anemones and sponges classified as corals.

Anyone can get a Peppermint, as long as you are willing to put up the money for one. ;)

Are you sure? I mean, I haven't really studied this fish much but I never seem to hear much about people keeping them. I heard there were only a few dozen in captivity at most and for how rare they are, I would have expected them to be more expensive than they have listed.

They typically run around 20-25K

Thats not true. Who is collecting them? Truethey are very expensive, but cost is not the only thing keeping them out of aquariums.

the person running marines gardens is an a@# and very annoying to speak with as he has very little knowledge about anyhting he is elling and his prices are always different and changing but besides that i agree with the above.... ooo and he can not get you a peppermint for 3500.00 although he swears he can.

That's one of my points. No one is collecting them. But I am sure you can hire someone to do some diving for 'ya. :)

I have never purchased from MG, but I do not have a high opinion of them and I will never order from them. I emailed them about a Candy basslet a while back. I got an email saying how difficult they are to obtain since they were found in very deep waters of the Pacific.

If a vendor does not even know where their products come from, they do not need to sell them!

I dont understand. Why would you say "Anyone can get a Peppermint, as long as you are willing to put up the money for one.", then? Of course, anyone who would pay the boat and cahrter fees, dive equipment, and all service fees for a diver to go out, and specifically get this fsh could have one, but that is an absurd claim. I could say the same about have a giant squid or coelocanth. If I were willing to pay the bucks, I could have one.

The bottom line with peppermints is that there will have a to be a collection trip first, and THEN they will become available. Just as has been done with clarions.

 Well with that logic, anyone *can* get a coelacanth, right?

Edit   Should have read the entire post above mine, first....

They also have that butterfly listed in feet for the approximate purchase size.

Same site has sexy shrimp, Thor amboinensis, listed as another species, says it is Indopacific, and more errors as you keep reading.

Stupidity or a sloppy web master?
