Here is a pic of the new Male Blue Throat Trigger that is only 2.5" from mouth to tail. I only paid $40 for him as that is why I couldnt resist.

Awesome that you got a bluethroat that small. Great price too. Did you get it directly from a wholesaler?

I actually got it from my LFS. They dont mark their prices up much for me. It was swimming around last night after I put him in and he ate after the lights went out.

Hopefully he wont do the same thing and hide when the lights are on in the big tank when he goes in.

Well I just got off the phone with the company that I ordered the Black Velvet Angel from and they didnt want to mail it out today with the possibility of it not being delivered tomorrow. So they said it will get mailed out on Monday. Better safe than sorry.

Well I know I said I would have pictures up last night of the Blue Spotted Angel, I got the pictures taken late and I even forgot to bring them with me this morning to work to post them.
He is eating any frozen Brine Shrimp w/Spirulina very well. He is very fat and healthy looking and colors look amazing. Will post the pics later today.

Nice little trigger! I want to find a small pair for my tank sometime soon, once QT space frees up. Looking forward to the bluespot pics!

Did you get that nice bluespot off diver's den this week, or is it from a lfs?

I got it from another source that someone on here frequently gets his fish from. Mine isnt even 3" yet which isnt easy to find either. But readily eats frozen food just like the cream angel.

Gorgeous fish! What sized tank is he in? That isn't the 30g you talked about it is? Looks like a 55g? Any close ups of the angel? I would love to get one of these, but probably not aggressive enough for my bunch.

Thank you. It is in a 40gallon breeder which will house it and the Black Velvet angel that should come in on tuesday. I do have some but they are of poor quality and will be taking some more tonight. But will post the ones I have. From what I have read in the Angelfish and ButterflyFish Book by Scott Michael they can hold their own but just are timid at first if with aggressive eaters. That is why the QT to make sure they are aggressively eating.

Here are the two closeup pics I have of the Blue Spotted Angel but I warned you that they are of poor quality.

Still a gorgeous fish, what are you treating with? I see you have some liverock in there, which is why I ask.
HOBrien
02/22/2009, 04:14 PM
Right now I am not treating it with anything until the Black Velvet comes in Tuesday and it gets eating and then I will wait for them to be eating well and see how they are acting and I will for sure use Prazi-Pro and I do have Cupramine on hand to do that as well. I have dosed it with ProBiotic Marine Formula that my LFS recommends and uses in his 540gallon Reef Display.

It swims all over the tank and when I come to the tank it comes to the front of the glass where I am.

Looks like you got a good one Heath....I hope he and the Black Velvet will coexist in the tank together for QT.
How big will the BV be, do you know? I got the one I had at a fairly large size (4+ inches) and I can tell you that fish feared nothing right from the start, very bold fish.
HOBrien

Thanks Kirk......I hope they do to and if not I will put up a eggcrate divider. The BV should be 2.5-3". The Blue Spotted is right around 2.5".

Dont we all ;)
I wasnt meaning photoshop though, I meant actual lipstick. I do like the way it's mouth looks, kind of a neat detail I never really noticed before. Although you dont see many of these types of angels so maybe I just never looked closely.
Good looking fish.

Thank you again and I have looked at alot of photos from searching google and never saw the blue lipstik on them to my recolection. I also got it from a source online that you dont see recommended that often which was Pet_Solutions but I saw a fellow Angel lover buys from them so i gave it a shot and couldnt be any happier. Heat pack still warm and all.

That's always nice. Twice in a row now I've gotten tropical fish in at just a few degrees above 60... which is irritating. Luckily all fish have pulled through, except my tang still wont eat much at all, still acting stressed.
HOBrien

That isnt good. I did have that happen when I ordered a trio of Anthias and they all came in with 40 degree water but I did get a refund on them.

Well I do now have the Blue Spotted Angel in Copper Treatment along with prazipro since signs of ich showed up yesterday. I did first dose lastnight right before lights out. From what I saw this morning he ate some of the spirulina/mysis I put in this morning.
UPDATE on Black Velvet Angel: I finally got ahold of someone that I had placed the order with and he said that he has had it in since I put the order in but wasnt looking healthy enough to send to a customer. I appreciate that but they could have called to let me know. They are also getting in 9 more tomorrow. Keeping fingers crossed for a good one.
