i have a mat of green star polyps which is attatched to a falling-to-bits piece of rock. Can i remove the rock and place the mat on a new piece of rock?
how do i do this?
will it harm the polyps?

GSP is pretty hardy. You shouldnt have any problems moving them. I have mine sitting on the sand bed they're not attached to any rock.

Pull it, peel it, rip it, glue it. Whatever you have to do to get it off the rock and on to a new one. Like Petoonia said its hardy and should be just fine. You can use super glue gel to glue it to the new rock.

i would suggest also keeping them seprate from your main rock structure as they will eventually spread and take over large portions of your rock work...i have mine growing on the skeleton of my old flowerpot coral making its own little island!!

I do the reverse. I get tonga branches and place the GSP on the top, making it look like a tree.

Yeah keep it away from your main rock structure while it looks nice it get's to be a pain in the a** when you constantly have to be peeling off piece of it so you could put a new coral.
