I have a duncan in my tank with about 30 heads on it that is half open half not just not looking good. On the other side of my tank I have a single head that looks great. My water parameters are good. 420 Cal, 2.7Alk, 0 Nitrites, 0 Nitrates, 0 phospate, 0 Ammonia, 78-79 degrees. I am direct feeding a few times a week. Do these things go through a phase where they may do this? I have never seen my other one close up halfway or some open some closed except when im fishing around in the tank or at night. Any thoughts? I have been watching to see if something is picking at him but nothing is that I see

I have my Duncan placed about half way down in the tank. I have found that the newer heads close up more than the older ones. The heads on the botton left side are newer and smaller than the rest, as it had a run in with a Hydnopora. I've had this one for a year now. It had 12 heads when I purchased it and a year later it has over 60. Before I had fish I would feed each head, with tweezers twice a week with Mysis. Now that I am feeding fish, every night it gets the leftovers of a mixture of Mysis, Brine and Cyclopeze.
